Rebecca Hui visited Gujarat, India when she was 19 years old. It was her first time spending time with indigenous artisans and it had a deep impact on her. “It completely challenged my idea of what the creative spirit means,” she says.
Hui’s love for indigenous traditional culture and art inspired her to found Roots Studio, an organization that bridges indigenous artists and their endangered heritage art forms into the global retail markets. Her team has worked with over 2000 artists from all over the globe, including India, China, Indonesia, the Middle East, and Panama.
