The Nest is a Japanese two-panel folding screen from the Thomsen Gallery, dating to 1929. Hand-painted by artist Mōri Shūkō (1898–1949), the work uses ink, mineral colours, and gofun—a pigment made from powdered shell—to compose the neutral-hued scene of a bird circling above its nest.
