Gucci’s Captivating Collection Welcomes the Year of the Rabbit
The lunar calendar heralds the arrival of the Year of the Rabbit in 2023, and Gucci is ushering in the festive season with a playful new collection.
The Gucci Lunar New Year capsule summons the spirit of the rabbit with vibrant pieces that represent the animal’s symbolic qualities: intelligence, longevity, and health. Bold colors, print, and embellishments take center stage across a selection of ready-to-wear pieces, alongside accessories, bags, shoes, and watches.
Contrasting hues and geometric prints define silk blouses and skirts, while graphic patterns feature in menswear pieces. Depictions of the rabbit come in different forms: spray-painted on T-shirts and loafers, woven into knits, or embroidered on patches.
Bows resembling rabbit ears and fur-like fleece detail adorn footwear, while the bags take on special renditions of Gucci’s signature styles ranging from the hand-painted Diana tote to the Horsebit 1955 shoulder bag in a selection of leathers, tweeds, and stud accents.
The collection’s joyful mood is captured in the uplifting campaign by Max Siedentopf, with the arrival of spring as the theme. Scenes bathed in sunrise signify the dawn of the new year as a cast of friends meets the lovable rabbits in a field of flowers.
The Gucci Lunar New Year collection will be available in select stores around the world, and will also be showcased in a series of pop-ups and special window displays.
