It is a beautiful bracelet, but it is more than that. As with many Louis Vuitton creations, it tells a story and makes a promise.
The unique bracelet is called the Silver Lockit, and was designed by Virgil Abloh, the artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s men’s wear collection.
Inspired by Mr. Abloh’s Spring-Summer 2020 runway collection, the Silver Lockit bracelets are available in black, orange, celadon green and blue. Taking inspiration from the tumbler lock created by Georges Vuitton (son of Louis Vuitton) back in 1890 to protect customers’ belongings, the Silver Lockit was chosen for its simple beauty, and also as a symbol representing the promise to help children at risk.
Launching on February 21st worldwide, the Silver Lockit by Virgil Abloh will retail for US$430, $100 of which is donated to UNICEF, as a continuation of Louis Vuitton’s #MAKEAPROMISE campaign to raise awareness and funds for children in need around the world.
The #MAKEAPROMISE campaign commits to raising funds for UNICEF, supporting some of the most vulnerable children around the world including Syrian refugees and host communities in Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey. The Silver Lockit continues that promise, in a most luxurious, memorable way.
