Backstage for CHANEL’s New Campaign with Sophia Copolla
An Exclusive Look Behind the Scenes
- Text by Kate Missine
With CHANEL unveiling the 19 Bag ad campaign this year with actresses Margaret Qualley, Taylor Russell, and Marine Vacth, Magnifissance gives you an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the making of the images. Shot by Steven Meisel, the campaign is directed by Sofia Coppola, daughter of acclaimed movie director Francis Ford Coppola.
The CHANEL 19 Bag, the newest from the house, is named for the year of its creation but also a nod to the ageless 2.55 bag, designed in 1955 by Mademoiselle Chanel. It features a larger quilted pattern than its predecessor, an oversized CC clasp, and a double chain strap.
