In its annual tribute to nature, Van Cleef & Arpels presents the exquisite Frivole jewellery collection, a blossoming testament to the brand’s craftsmanship and legacy.
The brand’s flower creations began in 1907 with the Marguerite brooch. Inspired by the freshness of flora, the bouquet theme evolved over the decades, evoking vibrant gardens and the countryside. In the 1940s, heart-shaped petals decorating cigarette cases and pill boxes made their appearance, while the signature corollas of the Frivole creations arrived in 2003.
Continuing the tradition with a fresh aesthetic, the 2024 Frivole collection intertwines rose gold with diamonds in five captivating pieces.
Van Cleef & Arpels infuses its signature brilliance into each creation. One of the brand’s trademark techniques, a mirror polish dating back to the 1920s, is meticulously applied by hand to amplify radiance. Master craftspeople work to maximize the light flow in each piece, enhancing the glow against the skin.
Reflecting the brand’s high standards, each diamond undergoes a rigorous twofold scientific selection process based on over a hundred years of expertise. The mount is intentionally crafted to frame the diamonds with openings carefully cut into the seven-flower bracelet and eight-flower ring to let light pass through the gemstones, intensifying their sparkle.
Delicate flowers bloom on the white gold seven-flower bracelet, adorned with nearly three hundred carefully chosen diamonds. The asymmetrical design, along with the tilt of the curved heart-shaped petals, echoes nature’s vitality.
In the eight-flower ring, white gold flowers paved with diamonds meet three rose gold counterparts accented by a central stone. Each of the eight flowers is scrupulously assembled by Van Cleef & Arpels artisans to form a three-dimensional bouquet for the finger.
Corollas unfurl soft shades of rose gold on a pendant and earrings that cast a warm glow on the wearer. Meanwhile, the unique Between the Finger ring presents a subtle dialogue between two mirror-polished rose gold flowers, adorned with asymmetrically set diamonds.
The 2024 Frivole collection is presented in a colourful store setting through a collaboration with artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet. His verdant design, heralding the arrival of spring, features slender flowers and three-dimensional elements, enhancing store windows and boutiques in a vibrant composition.
