Roger Dubuis Brings Hyper Horology to Downtown Vancouver

Downtown Vancouver is set to welcome a paragon of Swiss horological legacy at the iconic Maison Birks building on West Hastings. Beginning June 5th, 2025, the ground floor of the flagship jewellery and watch retailer will be home to the new Roger Dubuis boutique.

Coinciding with the Geneva watchmaker’s 30th anniversary, the boutique will offer clients an immersive journey into the bold world of Roger Dubuis—where avant-garde design meets ancestral craftsmanship and modern creativity.

Roger Dubuis began his horological journey in the 1950s, working alongside some of the industry’s most prominent watchmakers. In 1980, he established his own atelier, specializing in creating complications commissioned by other brands. By 1995, he partnered with designer Carlos Dias to co-found his eponymous brand.

Roger Dubuis quickly gained acclaim for its avant-garde aesthetics and unbridled freedom of expression, giving rise to the concept of “Hyper Horology.” Every Roger Dubuis calibre is produced in-house, blending artisanal skill with cutting-edge innovation—a commitment that has earned the Maison the prestigious Poinçon de Genève certification.

Step inside Roger Dubuis’ new 46-square-meter boutique, and you’re immediately drawn into the brand’s daring yet deliberate universe. The space embraces a sense of refined brutalism, where polished marble and lacquered wood collide with rugged concrete and sleek metal. Signature red accents surge through the counters like adrenaline, while the iconic astral motif commands the main wall—an emblem that echoes the very soul of Roger Dubuis timepieces.

A showcase of Roger Dubuis’ most iconic Excalibur timepieces welcomes visitors at the main entrance, while a sleek presentation counter invites relaxed browsing and try-ons. For those seeking a more intimate experience, a private viewing lounge offers comfort and exclusivity, complete with an entertainment corner featuring collaborations with premium beverage houses.
