For Christian Dior, fragrance was never merely scent; it was a portal, a sensory bridge to a long-dreamt landscape. Today, under the direction of Francis Kurkdjian, the house’s Perfume Creative Director, that philosophy finds a new expression in Jasmin des Anges Esprit de Parfum.

Dior Jasmine 1
Jasmin des Anges Esprit de Parfum rests amid a bed of jasmine blossoms, evoking the honeyed warmth and sun-drenched serenity of a late summer evening in Grasse.

The latest addition to La Collection Privée is an atmospheric memory. Kurkdjian has captured a specific, fleeting moment in Grasse: the final hour of a late summer day, when the heat lingers heavy and viscous, just before the first cool whisper of dusk.

Jasmin Grandiflorum, the floral heart of Jasmin des Anges Esprit de Parfum

“I transposed the moment during the jasmine harvest when the sun glows red in the Grasse sky and is about to set,” Kurkdjian says. He sought that singular sensory threshold — the landscape exhaling, still warm from the day—which, for him, embodies the very essence of a Mediterranean summer.

La Collection Privée Esprits de Parfum embodies Francis Kurkdjian’s
contemporary reinterpretation of Dior’s fragrance heritage, revealing each creation with heightened richness, depth, and character.

At the heart of this Esprit, a deeper, more intense iteration of the 2018 original, lies Jasmin Grandiflorum. Kurkdjian has blended the refined, historical harvests of Grasse with the opulent, sun-drenched florals of Egypt. The marriage creates what he calls an “incredible syrupy nectar”: a scent that moves beyond clean, soapy connotations of jasmine into something carnal, ripe, and fruit-forward.

Each amber drop distills the precious essence of Jasmin des Anges, capturing the fragrance in its purest, most luminous form.

To understand this fragrance is to understand the geography of Dior’s own interior world. Kurkdjian’s former home, the Château de La Colle Noire, stood as his ultimate sanctuary, surrounded by vineyards and jasmine fields that acted as a creative sedative. The very existence of this scent testifies to the revival of that terroir. Through sustained investment in local growers, Dior has recommitted to the soil that once captivated Christian Dior himself.

“Each new creation explores the history of our House, its imagination, values, and aesthetic codes, transposed into the present day,” Kurkdjian says. In Jasmin des Anges Esprit de Parfum, the house has achieved something rare: it has bottled not just a flower, but the golden, suspended stillness of a Mediterranean dusk, an hour that would otherwise slip away forever.
