Italian brand B&B Italia revolutionized the furniture market in 1972 with Le Bambole collection by Mario Bellini. With their sleek yet comfortable style, Le Bambole sofas, chairs, and beds quickly became some of the brand’s most iconic pieces.
Fifty years later, B&B Italia celebrates the anniversary of this visionary line with a collection that takes Le Bambole’s beloved silhouettes and reinvents them for modern times.
“I feel the pleasure of revisiting this family again because it confirms to me that it’s anything but aged. On the contrary, it’s enjoying a thriving and promising second life, a rebirth done in a big way, done with enthusiasm, with breadth, with decorations, and with the original flourishes,” Bellini says.
Le Bambole’s renewed form brings contemporary lines and a playful vibe. Chief among the updates is the upholstery, which comes in a slew of fun new options. Sable fabric in vibrant, 70s-inspired colours is among the offerings, offering a pleasantly textured feel that brings to mind the irregularities of organic surfaces.
Another innovation is the Manila fabric, blooming with an oversized floral rose print. Also on tap is buttery Kasia leather, known for its remarkable softness.
