Art on the Edge: Louis Vuitton Takes On Surrealist Twist
The work of Ewa Juszkiewicz is the latest to feature on Louis Vuitton’s Artycapucines bag
A Polish artist’s surrealist twist on classical European painting will be among the latest to join the ranks of Louis Vuitton’s Artycapucines Collection for 2023.

First launched in 2019, the Artycapucines project has been bringing together contemporary artists to put their touch on Vuitton’s timelessly feminine Capucines bag. Named after Rue Neuve-des-Capucines, the street that hosted Louis Vuitton’s first store in 1854, the legendary bag has provided the perfect canvas for artistic freedom and creative expression.

For the 2023 edition, Ewa Juszkiewicz is among the artists invited to work their magic on the newest batch of blank Capucines. Known for her oil portraits that reference both classical pieces and surrealist art, Juszkiewicz roots her works in an exploration—and deconstruction—of the Western feminine identity.
