Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2023 Show Channels Female Warriors
Set against the California sunset, Nicolas Ghesquière’s Louis Vuitton Cruise 2023 show invoked images of warrior women.
Equal parts forceful and dynamic, the collection was tinged with a steely edge—softened only slightly by voluminous forms and draping fabrics.
Ghesquière chose California’s Salk Institute, designed by Louis Kahn in 1965, as the architectural stage for the show.
Other Louis Vuitton Cruise 2023 looks were styled against the backdrop of the windswept coast, with the ocean waves meeting glittering sands in a landscape both beautiful and formidable.
The palettes and textures of both organic and man-made elements inspired the collection’s mix of materials—metallic fabrics that shimmered with reflected sunlight, prismatic accents, textured jacquards, and linen scarves.
