Louis Vuitton Unveils New Workwear Capsule Collection

The concept of functional workwear with a rugged edge played a focal role in the new Pharrell Williams Louis Vuitton collaboration, presented at the Paris to VA Fall-Winter 2024 Men’s Show.

Now, the Maison is set to release a men’s capsule collection centered around those same workwear designs on August 8, 2024.

Combining practicality with sophistication, the launch delves into the American Western roots of workwear while also showcasing Louis Vuitton’s signature craftsmanship with a range of ready-to-wear pieces, a limited-edition Keepall 50 Toolbox bag, and an exciting Timberland collaboration.

The Pharrell Williams Louis Vuitton collection’s ready-to-wear segment sees an elevated take on durable, versatile workwear staples. Expect overdyed jacquard suits in rich browns, blacks, and beiges; sculptural trucker coats showing leather appliqué; and fine details like turquoise buttons, embroidery, and studs.

One of the collection’s key pieces is the Keepall 50 Toolbox, a utility-inspired take on Vuitton’s iconic Keepall, that takes its cue from the toolbox ubiquitous in American workwear. Preserving the earthy tones of natural leather, the bag features multiple exterior pockets and rivets, lined with a coated Monogram canvas. Matching accessories include a flask and cigarette case forged from engraved steel recalling Western work boots and a silk scarf in a nod to the customary neckwear of workers.

A much-anticipated highlight of the launch is Louis Vuitton’s workwear boot, a collaboration with Timberland. Available for pre-order online from July 18, 2024, and in select stores from August 8, the shoe reimagines the cult Timberland work boot in a number of styles and adaptations.

First in line is the LV 6-inch boot, crafted in Italian nubuck leather in classic wheat or black options and outfitted with a lug sole and embossed LV Monogram details. Next, the LV Boot offers an expanded shape in several variations: an ankle boot in wheat or black grained leather; a ranger boot style with a longer shaft and strap details; a pull-on mid boot in nubuck leather featuring brown leather ankle cuffs; and the pull-on harness boot, complete with side buckles and harness details.

Last but certainly not least comes the standout LV 6-Inch Exceptional Edition, available in a limited edition of 50 pieces. Made from waterproof Italian leather with the Classic Monogram pattern and a bespoke rubber lug outsole, the coveted ankle boot combines Vuitton’s expertise in shoe, jewelry, and hard-sided craftsmanship.

The style is adorned with 18-karat gold accents and hardware, while the LV tongue initials are inscribed with the phrase “THE SUN IS SHINING ON US,” inspired by the Pharrell Williams Louis Vuitton debut show in 2023. The boots come in the bespoke Monogram leather and plexiglass shoebox that made its appearance on the Fall-Winter 2024 runway.
