Kamaro’an’s Archetype, a collection of handwoven objects inspired by tribal culture, embraces a return to a lifestyle marked by simplicity and natural beauty.
Established in 2013, the small Taiwanese label made up of a group of industrial designers, indigenous researchers, and craftsmen, has become internationally acclaimed for its premium natural materials and locally-inspired designs. Kamaro’an’s work has subsequently been recognized at the Paris Furniture and Home Decor Fair and featured at the design store of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
Kamaro’an introduced its Archetype collection in 2022. Four woven bags and four pottery pieces intended to be used for carrying, storage, and decoration make up the series. Crafted with traditional weaving and ceramic techniques, these items are defined by shapes and textures that speak to the culture of the local people.
