Van Cleef & Arpels Unveils Berry-Inspired Timepieces

Van Cleef & Arpels’ latest creation unfolds like a whispered secret of the forest, a poetic celebration of nature’s most luscious treasures. Introducing two enchanting new watches that transform the humble berry into a canvas of artistry.

The Perlée Extraordinaire Fruits Enchantés Myrtille and Framboise timepieces conjure miniature, jewel-studded worlds, where ripe raspberries and plump blueberries emerge in radiant detail. These vibrant fruits, kissed by summer’s glow, rest against a delicately etched woodland backdrop as a playful homage to nature’s quiet poetry.

Born within the Maison’s métiers d’art ateliers, these watches showcase Van Cleef & Arpels’ patented façonné enamel technique, unveiled in 2023 after years of devoted research. Enamel powder is delicately poured into molds, fired twice, then polished and carved by hand before a final glaze bestows a translucent, jewel-like luster. The result is a dial that transcends timekeeping, becoming a three-dimensional symphony of color and form, demanding up to 300 hours of craftsmanship for each unique piece.

Surrounding the succulent berries, foliage shimmers in finely engraved gold, while two ethereal fairies, the Maison’s emblem of whimsy and elegance, flutter in rose or white gold, their delicate wings set with diamonds. Each fairy begins as a wax sculpture, transformed through silversmithing and gold casting, then hand-finished.

Encasing this enchanted tableau, Van Cleef’s signature Perlée beads frame the watch in polished gold, completing the story with subtle touches: a ladybug engraved on the Framboise’s caseback, and a butterfly poised behind the Myrtille.
