Aerin Lauder’s new book inspires readers with her love of all things floral.
Since her earliest days, Aerin Lauder—founder of the cult lifestyle brand Aerin and granddaughter of the legendary Estée Lauder—has nurtured a special connection with flowers.
“I can’t imagine a world without flowers,” she writes in the introduction to her book Living with Flowers. “What else brings so much joy with so little effort?”
Living with Flowers is a heartfelt tribute to Lauder’s deep-rooted connection to the world of flowers. She recalls how her childhood was shaped by their delicate scents and sights—from the fragrance of her grandmother’s rose perfume, to the floral wallpaper in her bedroom, and the Laura Ashley prints her mother dressed her in. Later, she cultivated her own meticulously tended garden in the Hamptons, a gift from her husband’s aunt. For Lauder, flowers represent more than just beauty—they symbolize intergenerational bonds, elegance, and the simple joys that add colour to daily life.

“Flowers are a portal to different people or places in my life;” she writes. “Flowers and fragrance are deeply entwined in my memories of family and home.”
The beautifully illustrated Living with Flowers celebrates Lauder’s enthusiasm for her beloved blooms. Through personal insights and captivating photographs, the designer invites readers to explore the wonders of the flower world and enrich their own spaces and lifestyles with floral charm.
Offering a glimpse into her own home, Lauder shares how she incorporates flowers into her daily life to create inviting, personality-infused spaces. Her creative tips and ideas introduce fresh concepts in floral design, as she reveals her secrets for crafting simple yet sophisticated arrangements. Whether opting for a neutral palette to achieve understated elegance or experimenting with bold colours for a whimsical touch, Lauder’s approach is both practical and inspiring—ranging from the subtle beauty of a single stem on her desk or a bunch of daisies in her kitchen, to elaborate seasonal arrangements for holiday décor. Beyond floral compositions, the book also highlights Lauder’s artistic flair in her home decor: from floral patterns in wallpaper to textiles and tableware, creating spaces that feel both fresh and timeless.
“To me, flowers and photographs are what make a house a home,” writes Lauder. “Flowers are my constant companion, a source of unmitigated joy in every season. I hope you will find the same.”
