For Japanese designer Fumie Shibata, craftsmanship and simplicity are more than principles, they are a way of life rooted in spiritual balance. Her work emerges from this philosophy, where restraint and harmony shape every form, fostering an intimate connection between people and space.
Nowhere is this ethos clearer than in Shibata’s Enn table for Flexform. A study in minimalist elegance, it features a circular wooden top, an emblem of unity, resting atop a truncated cone base wrapped in supple cowhide and grounded by slender metal feet. Here, Italian artisanal mastery meets Japanese sensibility, resulting in a piece that is both sculptural and serene, a dialogue between two cultures distilled into timeless form.
