For over two decades, Chopard has played a starring role in the Cannes Film Festival. Since 1998, its partnership has brought glamour and brilliance to the world’s most celebrated red carpet, and this 78th edition was no exception.

As part of the celebrations, Chopard hosted its prestigious annual gala evening — a highlight of the Cannes social calendar. This year’s edition, titled UNIVERSE, saw a Cannes airport hangar transformed into an immersive, otherworldly setting. Guests were transported on a cosmic voyage through art, cinema, and couture, all brought to life under the visionary direction of Chopard Co-President Caroline Scheufele.

The enchanting evening began with a cocktail reception at the Cannes airport, where guests — including Festival jury members Halle Berry and Alba Rohrwacher — were personally welcomed by Caroline Scheufele. The celebration continued with an exquisite dinner set amidst serpentine mirrored tables and celestial-inspired décor, conjuring the dreamlike ambiance of an enchanted, star-strewn forest.

Taking center stage was a mesmerizing fashion show, unveiling 78 dazzling creations from Chopard’s 2025 Red Carpet Collection. Each piece was beautifully paired with designs from Caroline’s Couture — a collection inspired by Caroline Scheufele’s cherished memories and lifelong passions. As the evening unfolded beneath a canopy of stars, guests were serenaded by a live performance from Ellie Goulding — a soulful finale that brought the magical night to a glowing and unforgettable close.

Another standout moment of the Festival—and a tribute to Chopard’s enduring influence—was Caroline Scheufele’s announcement of Angelina Jolie as the Godmother of the 2025 Trophée Chopard. Established by Scheufele in 2001, the award celebrates emerging talents in the world of cinema. This year’s recipients included French actress Marie Colomb, acclaimed for her performances in the award-winning As Bestas and the Culte series, and Irish-British actor Finn Bennett, who will soon star in the Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

Designed by Caroline Scheufele and expertly crafted by Chopard’s artisans, the Trophée Chopard trophy symbolizes the brand’s deep ties to cinema, its commitment to nurturing emerging talent, and its passion for the “seventh art.” Magnifissance was privileged to share exclusive images of Angelina Jolie at the awards ceremony, where she dazzled in a strapless ivory gown complemented by an exquisite Chopard necklace and earring set.
“I am so happy to welcome Angelina Jolie as our Trophée Chopard Godmother,” Scheufele said. “I know the rising talents we honour this year will be inspired by her journey and wisdom.”
