Christian Dior’s passion for both nature and kismet has inspired the creation of four new Dior Grand Soir Automate watches, where artistic wonders meet the ingenuity of movement.
Achieving an all-new level of watchmaking, these models feature an automaton mechanism developed exclusively for the brand: a button hidden in the crown brings elements of the dial to life with thirty seconds of animated motion.
The Étoile de Monsieur Dior model pays homage to Christian Dior and the symbols that accompanied his life journey: the star lighting his path when he founded his fashion house; 30 Avenue Montaigne—his store’s iconic address; and the Aquarius, his zodiac sign. A dreamy nighttime sky scattered with gold and silver stars and a diamond Aquarius constellation forms the dial, which also features a printed mother-of-pearl backdrop and engraved clouds. The black varnished strap brings a touch of glitter to the star-lit shimmer.
A wholly different vibe is created by the enchanting Jardin Rêvé watch, which transports us to the gardens of the Normandy house where Christian Dior spent his childhood and nurtured a love for nature; he later dedicated an entire room in his Paris apartment to flowers. Dior’s infatuation with flora and fauna is reflected on the watch’s dial.
On the mother-of-pearl and pink gold dial, a golden monkey, a pink gold giraffe, a disappearing toucan, and butterflies frolic amid lush blossoms of pink gold, diamonds, and sapphires.
Two other versions of the Jardin Rêvé are presented in white or yellow gold, each available in a limited edition of 8 pieces.
