In the heart of Florence, the Oltrarno neighbourhood is one of the city’s most elegant—home to unique shops and antique dealers.
It’s here, on Via Maggio, that master perfumer Luca Fisichella decided to set up shop for Magno Gaudio Firenze, his fragrance boutique and olfactory workshop.
His creations are a fine example of the charm of Italian perfume.
“Magno Gaudio is my great joy,” Fisichella says. “[It’s] emotion that becomes a life story, from the birth of an idea to the creation of a fragrance.”
Furnished with Art Deco pieces from the 20s and 30s, the shop specializes in niche perfumery, using rare and precious natural essences.
After experimenting in his fragrance laboratory for seven long years, Fisichella created a collection of perfumes and room fragrance sprays.
“My fragrances are a constantly open construction site,” he says, noting that several creations are still in progress.
“I believe that every perfumer has a background that makes the experience he has to offer unique,” Fisichella says.
