In the verdant heart of Brandenburg, northeast Germany, a hidden 18th-century Prussian baroque castle—Schlossgut Schwante—is tucked into the region’s rolling fields and tree-lined groves. Within the leafy grounds of the 10-acre estate lies the Sculpture Park, founded and curated since 2020 by husband-and-wife collectors Dr. Loretta Würtenberger and Daniel Tümpel.
More than just a gallery unbounded by walls, the park unfolds as a sanctuary of quietude and reflection—a place where art is not merely observed, but encountered in communion with nature. Here, art lovers are tempted out of the city (Berlin is just 25 km away) to wend their way through the leafy grounds at their own pace, where each wandering step unveils thoughtfully-curated contemporary sculptures, set amidst the verdant expanse to conjure a scene of quiet wonder.

An evolving programme keeps visitors coming back each season, blending pieces on loan with permanent fixtures and site-specific installations. The park has previously exhibited the distinguished talents of Ai Weiwei, Monika Sosnowska, Anahita Razmi, and George Rickey, making the yet-to-be-disclosed 2025 exhibition hotly anticipated. Meanwhile, the sculpture exhibitions are enriched by a plethora of creative events, including yoga, poetry readings, and apple harvest festivals.
