A vision in motion where grace meets ingenuity, Chopard‘s latest high jewellery timepiece captures the ephemeral beauty of a swan mid-glide. With its sculptural curves and ethereal detailing, the Maison’s newest secret watch is a poetic tribute to nature, craftsmanship, and the art of time concealed.
Crafted entirely by hand in 18-carat ethical white gold, the piece has been unveiled as a nominee in the 2025 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in the Jewellery Watch category, a prestigious return for Chopard, following its 2024 win with the Laguna secret watch.
Designed by Co-President and Artistic Director Caroline Scheufele, the Swan Lake watch is the result of an intimate collaboration between master watchmakers and high jewellery artisans. Over 34 carats of white diamonds trace the elegant silhouette of the swan, their brilliance magnified by a titanium base that shimmers like seafoam beneath still water. The effect is quietly hypnotic, part sculpture, part fairytale, all precision.
Over 900 hours were devoted to the conception, design, and handcrafting of this singular piece, whose delicate harmony belies the complexity within. At its heart lies a secret, quite literally. The swan’s neck, when gently turned, activates an internal mechanism that unfurls its wings in three articulated sections. As the plumage opens, it reveals a dial in engraved mother-of-pearl, adorned with a feather motif, a tactile nod to the bird itself.
Beneath the poetry lies precision. The watch is powered by Chopard’s in-house 10.01-C manual-winding movement, offering a 45-hour power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, a mechanical marvel as refined as the case that houses it.
Completing the composition is a satin strap accented with white feathers and fastened by a feather-shaped buckle in white gold, a final grace of movement and lightness. Swan Lake is a living expression of Chopard’s enduring philosophy: to unite technical mastery with imaginative artistry.
