CHANEL Cruise 2023/24 Collection Sets Sail

The star-studded universes of fashion and cinema converge in the CHANEL Cruise 2023/24 collection as a vivacious and glamorous journey through the decades.

The collection dances through a whirlwind of eras: from the roaring 1920s and 30s to the disco 1970s and neon 80s, bringing a colourful tribute to fashion and pop culture. An electric energy permeates the fabrics, embroideries, and prints. Geometric gold squares and sleek black and gold chevrons meet Karl Lagerfeld’s playful spirit in motifs of milkshakes and roller skates, of palm trees and golden California sunsets.

“Between a tribute to the glamour of great film stars and evoking the world of fun to be had with aerobics, sports and roller skating … it’s all a question of balance,” artistic director Virginie Viard says.

Rhinestones and embroidery feature on shorts, bustiers and jumpsuits, while the 60s-inspired suits and evening dresses bring a more sophisticated side to the CHANEL Cruise collection. Casual essentials also find their place, with swimwear, pyjamas, and bathrobes channelling a laid-back vibe. Accessories follow, spanning everything from 1930s-style footwear to legwarmers gleaming with rhinestones, ombré gradients, and metallic leathers.

CHANEL’s iconic palette of monochrome blacks and whites is splashed with multicoloured hues ranging from pastel to flamboyant brights infused with liberal doses of Viard’s beloved pinks. At the same time, generous glimmers of gold conjure the golden era of cinema, evoking screen stars, dazzling lights, and the eternal California sunshine.

“The idea is to offer a breath of fresh air, a voyage, a light-hearted and happy fantasy,” Viard says.
