Earth Gems: Incredible Louis Vuitton Collection

The latest Louis Vuitton jewellery collection, Deep Time, embarks on a profound voyage from the birth of the planet to the emergence of life. The brand’s largest collection to date, and the fifth designed by Francesca Amfitheatrof, artistic director for Watches and Jewellery, Deep Time presents over 170 unique pieces fusing Louis Vuitton’s signature savoir-faire with the origins of geology and the mystical legacy of gemstones.

Split into two acts—geology and life—Deep Time delves into 16 themes. Geology narrates our planet’s evolution, starting with the ancient supercontinent Gondwana. Featuring an exclusive selection of the rarest, no oil Colombian emeralds, Gondwana’s story unfolds alongside apocalyptic evolutions captured through the themes of Volcano, Wave, and Rupture. The signature Vuitton V unifies the one-of-a-kind jewels, while custom-cut stones radiate innate power.

“We have this incredible ambition to find the most beautiful stones, which in Deep Time are all connected to a theme,” Amfitheatrof says. “Deep Time is a celebration of the past, but also [of] the beauty of nature and the incredible fragility of life.”
