At the intersection of tradition and imagination, these 10 extraordinary timepieces unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2025 exemplify horology as both technical prowess and wearable art.
Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux
A wearable love story with a light-hearted allure
Playfully colorful and irresistibly whimsical, Van Cleef & Arpels’ Lady Arpels Pont des Amoureux timepieces were a breath of fresh air amidst the more somber collections at the fair. Fans of the brand may recall the first iteration of this Poetic Complications line, originally revealed in 2010 to much fanfare, scooping the Ladies’ Watch Prize at the Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève. Its story always plays out in the form of two lovers rendezvousing to kiss on a bridge in Paris.
This year, four new models showcase intricately decorated grisaille enamel dials, each evoking a different time of day—two in pink (Aube and Soirée) and two in blue (Matinée and Clair de Lune). The beauty of the moving design is further enhanced by masterful gem-setting craftsmanship, with snow-set sapphires and diamonds adorning the bracelets, complementing the joyful sparkle of diamond-set bezels.
Bulgari Serpenti Aeterna
A high jewellery hybrid with serpentine sophistication
A fitting tribute to the Year of the Snake, Bulgari turned heads with its boldest ever reimagining of the iconic Serpenti, an emblem of perpetual renewal. The new Serpenti Aeterna presents an ultra-stylized design, its essence distilled into a striking purity of form that forgoes the eyes and scales of previous iterations. Its sculpted, almost futuristic silhouette wraps around the wrist as a seamlessly integrated bangle, blurring the boundaries between high horology and fine jewelry. The rose-gold model is snow-set with brilliant-cut diamonds across the case and head, while additional diamonds feature the crown and bracelet. For those seeking even greater opulence, a white-gold high jewelry model showcases oversized diamonds set into the bracelet, complementing an emerald-set crown.
Cartier Panthère
A dynamic statement watch with a wild side
Cartier revisited its iconic Panthère design—a hallmark of many elegant dressers since its debut in the 1980s—with a stunning new iteration. Alluringly striking yet undeniably spirited, this 2025 expression demonstrates the height of the skill at Cartier’s Maison des Métiers d’Art, while still preserving Panthère’s signature elegance and fluidity.
The eye is immediately drawn to the glamorous multicoloured gem-set pattern, which fuses zebra and tiger stripes, flowing across the 36.5mm rose gold case and bracelet. Both are set with white pavé diamonds and 86 yellow and orange spessarites, while black and brown lacquer accents heighten the timepiece’s animalistic effect.
Chopard L’Heure du Diamant Moonphase
A high jewellery poem channelling the romance of the night sky
Described by Chopard as “eminently poetic,” the L’Heure du Diamant Moonphase ushers in a new era for the beloved collection with the introduction of the 09.02-C movement, complete with a moonphase display. The piece dazzles with a galaxy of crown-set diamonds—an Chopard signature—gracing the dial, hour markers, and moonphase complication.
The nocturnal theme continues with a whimsical aventurine glass dial, evoking the magic of a star-strewn night sky. Handcrafted by the maison’s master artisans, the watch is encased in a 35.75mm case of 18-carat white gold.
Hermès Maillon Libre
A radical take on an icon with untold potential
One of the most eagerly anticipated exhibitors of the event, Hermès’s ‘Le Temps Suspendu’ (‘time suspended’) installation encapsulates the concept of escaping temporal limitations and seizing the moment. As part of this, Maillon Libre, part of the maison’s imaginatively bold Libre collection, showcases boundary-pushing expressions of luxury horology.
Hermès’ signature anchor chain is reinterpreted as both a contemporary wristwatch and versatile brooch watch. The wristwatch, available in white or rose gold, features either a diamond or terracotta tourmaline at its center, complemented by a minimal integrated time display.
Equally Excitingly, the brooch watch offers remarkable versatility—it can be worn as a pendant, bag charm, or even a keyring, thanks to a refined leather cordlet that subtly nods to the maison’s equestrian heritage.
Patek Philippe Calatrava 8-Day 5328G-001
An elegant everyday companion with purity of form
Amongst its impressive array of 15 covetable new novelties, Patek Philippe’s Calatrava 8-Day 5328G-001 was a particular standout. Part of the watchmaker’s everyday complications line, this latest addition to the beloved Calatrava—Patek’s cherished round-wristwatch collection—reveals both an instantaneous day-date display and an eight-day power reserve indicator. Enclosed in a white gold case detailed with Patek’s trademark guilloche hobnail pattern, the timepiece captivates with a deep blue dial, enhanced by a richly textured finish.
Further setting it apart is a newly designed triple-blade fold-over clasp, allowing effortless interchangeability between refined blue or taupe calfskin straps. Inside, a newly developed manually wound movement powers the complications—its mechanical intricacies visible through a sapphire crystal case back, offering a glimpse into the artistry and precision that define the Patek Philippe legacy.
Rolex Land-Dweller
A distinguished innovation that remains true to house codes
Though Oyster Perpetual enthusiasts were pleased with the arrival of several refreshed designs, it was Rolex’s debut of the all-new Land-Dweller that undoubtedly stole the spotlight at this year’s event. As the Crown’s first major new launch since 2012, this novelty officially completes the iconic ‘Dweller’ trio (alongside Sea-Dweller and Sky-Dweller).
Conceptualised for “well-grounded men and women who build their own destinies, seeking opportunity in every moment,” the Land-Dweller marks the pinnacle of over 100 years of horological excellence—five years in development. Available in both 36mm and 40mm, its bold, contemporary lines are highlighted by a striking honeycomb-motif dial, complemented by either a fluted or diamond-set bezel.
A standout feature is the new, masterfully integrated Flat Jubilee bracelet, which flows into the case, offering an irresistibly sleek and refined aesthetic. Powered by the cutting-edge Calibre 7135, the watch is impressively thin and lightweight.
Vacheron Constantin Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication
A record-breaking masterpiece of landmark complexity
To mark its monumental 270th anniversary in 2025, Vacheron Constantin has unveiled a true horological marvel—the most complicated wristwatch ever created. Eight years in development, the Les Cabinotiers Solaria Ultra Grand Complication boasts an astonishing 41 complications, including five astronomical functions that have never before coexisted within a single timepiece.
This extraordinary watch allows the wearer to track the movements of the sun, moon, tides, and astrological houses, while a beautifully rendered celestial map on the case back—used alongside the split-seconds chronograph—can even determine when specific stars or constellations will come into view.
Powering this cosmic masterpiece is the all-new Calibre 3655, a movement of remarkable complexity comprising 1,521 components and 204 jewels. All of this is housed within a refined 45mm white gold case, fronted by a black sunray satin-finished dial that radiates timeless elegance.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater
A dual-personality timepiece of remarkable intricacy
Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled a series of cutting-edge innovations within its coveted Tribute range. Chief among them is the Reverso Tribute Minute Repeater, an evolution of the 1994 Reverso Minute Repeater, now featuring contrasting dials on both the front and reverse.
While the original ’90s model was celebrated as the first miniaturised Reverso complication, the 2025 reinterpretation debuts the Calibre 953—a newly developed, integrated movement showcasing exceptional artistry. Intricately openworked on the reverse beneath cantilevered indices, Calibre 953 incorporates seven patents that enhanced chime performance, including crystal gongs and trébuchet hammers for remarkable acoustic clarity.
Crafted within Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Atelier des Métiers Rares, the timepiece also shows off a radiant grand feu enamel front dial in teal, detailed with elaborate hand-guilloché barley-seed patterning.
Tudor Black Bay
A versatile diver’s watch encapsulating the power of colour
Tudor unveiled fresh interpretations of its iconic Black Bay collection, rooted in six decades of diving heritage. Of them all, the 39mm Black Bay 58 is a stylistic standout, featuring a vibrant dial and bezel in a rich shade of burgundy. Striking on the wrist, this glossy rendition finally brings to light a 1990s prototype that—until now—had never seen the light of day. A joyous experiment with color, the design achieves a sense of aesthetic harmony between the dial and the highly defined notched bezel, which is enhanced by a beautiful sunray brush and sheen. Adding to its intrigue, the model features a METAS Master Chronometer and an elegant five-link bracelet with a T-fit rapid adjustment strap, marking both as firsts for the range.
