Phillips Auction Features Mark Cho’s Notable Watch Collection
Over 50 fine timepieces owned by watch collector and connoisseur Mark Cho will go under the hammer at the first single owner online watch auction by Phillips, organized in collaboration with Bacs & Russo.
From November 30 to December 6, 2022, The Beauty in Everything Single Owner Online Auction will showcase dozens of exquisite and exclusive timepieces from Cho’s collection, which took him some 16 years to assemble.
Cho, who is also the co-founder of menswear retailer The Armoury, possesses a deep passion for horology, and his varied yet discerning taste is evident in this collection. The assortment consists both of vintage and modern timepieces by brands such as Patek Philippe, A. Lange & Söhne, IWC, Grand Seiko, Cartier, Omega, and H. Moser & Cie.
According to Cho, he decided to part with some of his beloved timepieces to expand his clothing business.
“I wish to trade these many, small, and amazing things, that I have selfishly kept to myself, in pursuit of a single new expansion of The Armoury New York to be enjoyed by my colleagues and my customers. I look forward to seeing these timepieces continue their great journey in good hands with collectors and watch lovers from around the world,” Cho says.
Some highlights of the sale include
It’s not the first time Philipps has collaborated with Cho. The auction house has worked with The Armoury on other projects, including the sale of bespoke City Hunter 2 jackets in support of WHO’s COVID-19 fund.
This time, the auction presents an exciting opportunity for collectors around the globe to acquire extraordinary timepieces. Magnifissance, too, will delve deeper into Cho’s watch collection journey in its upcoming print issue.
