Since its creation in 1947, Miss Dior has represented the spirit of Christian Dior’s original vision: femininity with structure, softness with intent. Now, nearly eight decades later, the iconic fragrance has been reinterpreted in a new limited-edition release, Miss Dior Essence, a composition by Dior Perfume Creative Director Francis Kurkdjian and presented in a bottle hand-adorned with feathers by the esteemed Parisian atelier Maison Février.

Only 50 numbered bottles have been made.

Kurkdjian’s fragrance is a contemporary floral-woody interpretation, structured around the brightness of blackberry and elderflower, the sensuality of jasmine, and a base of oakwood. The result is both refined and unexpected, resolutely modern but grounded in the codes of haute parfumerie.

It is the bottle that elevates this edition into the realm of collectible art.

At its neck, the signature black Miss Dior bow has been reimagined by Maison Février, one of the last remaining feather artisans in France. Established in 1929 and supplying couture houses ever since, the atelier specialises in the subtle architecture of feathers, an art requiring precision, lightness, and decades of mastery.

For Dior, Février’s artisans worked with goose, ostrich, and cockerel feathers, dyed in shades of blush pink and inky black, a chromatic nod to Dior’s classic palette. Each feather was manipulated using traditional techniques—pinching, stiffening, knotting—to create delicate jasmine blossoms and star-shaped forms. The final bow, formed through intricate feather marquetry, is both sculptural and ephemeral, with a centre of “ostrich velvet” anchoring the design.

Each bottle is finished with a precisely cut, screen-printed label, lending a sense of graphic clarity against the softness of the featherwork. This is Dior at its most poetic—a feathered love letter to the eternal muse of the house: the modern, elegant, and ever-evolving Miss Dior.
